Remodeling takes so long.
We’ve been working on remodeling our master bathroom since November. That means we’ve been using the hall bathroom. Our clothes have moved down the hall too. New tile, new shower tray, new tub, new vanity. We decided to rework or closest too. Making decisions for everything was exhausting. Tile colors, grout, faucet fixtures, vanity, lights, paint, the list goes on and on. Did I mention one of our new lights is defective and a new one needs to be ordered?
Perhaps because we did some work ourselves it’s taken longer. Today the plumber completed the final plumbing. The shower works, but the glass surround is not coming until next week. The new tub is in place. There were a few problems. The toilet is leaking, it will be fixed tomorrow. A valve failed and we have a few water spots on the kitchen ceiling. I knew this happened. The plumber called so I wouldn’t be surprised. He’ll be back tomorrow.
I can’t wait to move back into our bathroom and return our clothes to the closests. I – can’t – wait. It’s taken so long. So much planning, so much work, so much waiting, some unexpected surprises along the way, but it’s almost finished. Just a little longer.
It’s a lot like teaching. Planning, refining, fixing, waiting, hoping, anticipating, and then finally you see how everything works out.
